CMS’ Primary Care First Update

CMS’ Primary Care First Update

Primary Care

After much anticipation, CMS has released more information about the Primary Care First payment models. It is a positive sign that CMS is committed to strengthening primary care by partnering with practices and payers through such an aggressive performance-based payment model (see our first blog on this program here).

The latest update provides more details around participation requirements, which includes:

  • Use of a certified EHR capable of providing eCQM reporting.
  • Ability to pull, measure, and report quality measures.
  • Support of data exchange via API’s allowing connection with local HIE’s.

Clinics will also have the opportunity to ingest and make actionable Medicare FFS claims data for their attributed patients.

At KPI Ninja, we have been pioneers in the Direct Primary Care space by supporting practices with various data capabilities. Through our partnerships, practices have witnessed improved clinical outcomes, access, utilization and cost savings. Outside of the DPC space we have NCQA eMeasure certification, with extensive experience working with HIE’s, measuring and submitting quality measures and making actionable claims data. If you would like to learn more about this model and how KPI Ninja can help you operationalize Primary Care First, we would love to here from you!
